*As of Monday March 8 soap fans may not get to see their soaps if they have Cablevision and live in Long Island, Westchester, Brooklyn, the Bronx and selected suburbs of Connecticut and New Jersey because for the past two years ABC7 has tried, without success, to reach an agreement with Cablevision to carry ABC7.  Why?  Because Cablevision’s position is that ABC7 is worth little to nothing to its business and its proposed offers have been consistently unreasonable and unrealistic.  Fans can visit www.saveABC7.com to make their voices heard and for details on how to switch providers.

Below is a copy of an open letter from President and General Manager of ABC7, Rebecca Campbell. Year after year, ABC7 is the most watched station in New York…and the country. Unfortunately, as of March 7, ABC7 may no longer be carried on Cablevision systems in Long Island, Westchester, Brooklyn, the Bronx and selected suburbs of Connecticut and New Jersey. For the past two years ABC7 has tried, without success, to reach an agreement with Cablevision to carry ABC7.  Why?  Because Cablevision’s position is that ABC7 is worth little to nothing to its business and its proposed offers have been consistently unreasonable and unrealistic. And that’s a shame.

ABC7 delivers some of the most popular programming carried on Cablevision today, shows like General Hospital, All My Children, One Life to Live, The View, Regis and Kelly, Oprah, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Dancing with the Stars, and so much more.‬ We think these shows are valuable.  And Cablevision’s bills show that they agree, since their customers already pay for ABC7 as part of the Broadcast Basic Tier…a service for which customers pay as much as $18 each month.‬What the bill doesn’t who is how much Cablevision pays ABC7 for these programs…nothing! That’s right, they charge customers for ABC7 then keep ALL the money. ABC7 will continue to work with Cablevision to reach a fair agreement, but regardless of the outcome, ABC7 is available to those areas in New York through a variety of other providers as well as free, over the air.  Customers can visit www.saveABC7.com to make their voices heard and for details on how to switch providers.‬‪‬‪

Here is some more info about what our fans can do...

There are two facebook sites that fans can join as well. In addition to the website www.saveABC7.com and the phone number – 877-990-ABC7 – also the fact that Cablevision charges viewers up to $18 each month for access to ABC7…that’s $40 million from all their subscribers each month and more than $500 million dollars each year…and they aren’t paying anything for it…so why would they need to raise rates???

*In keeping up with our OLTL alumni actors, I am pleased to report that Jessica Tuck who played Llanview's  beloved Megan Gordon is returning to daytime.  She has been casted on Days of Our Lives in a new character playing the role of Chad's mother. This news is so new we do not even have an official name of the character.  She has been a busy woman since leaving OL.  She has been a part of the popular High School Musical franchise, and recently got done wrapping up a part in the HBO hit series True Blood, as well as countless amounts of guest star prime time appearances.   Welcome back to daytime Jessica!*

*While it is so far in advance, and the actual nominees will not be chosen until March and April, let's cheer on the list of OLTL actors that are being recognized on the pre-Emmy list thus far. Here are the names, Crystal Hunt, Farah Fath, Scott Clifton, Scott Evans, Mark Lawson, Brian Kerwin, Brett Claywell, Ilene Kristen, Bree Williamson, Jerry verDorn, Robert S. Woods, Hillary B. Smith, and Erika Slezak.  Quite an impressive list!  Lets hope many of our OL favorites make the final cut!*

'One Life, Many Voices' Donates Pianos and More

Though it's been more than four years since members of ABC Daytime's "One Life to Live" cast first banded together, lifting their voices in song to create a compilation CD to benefit those affected by Hurricane Katrina, their voices are still being heard through the gift of music.  With a mission to "recover through the arts," the One Life, Many Voices Foundation has announced plans to donate three upright pianos to students in southern Mississippi, as well as a grand piano to a theater company in New Orleans.

Beginning the first week of March, upright Yamaha pianos will be delivered in Mississippi to West Marion Primary School in Foxworth, Bay High School in Bay St. Louis and the Boys and Girls Club in Pass Christian.  A very special grand piano, purchased in the memory of Phil Carey, who played OLTL's Asa Buchanan from 1979 to 2007, will also be given to the Le Petit Theatre in New Orleans.

Since the original "One Life, Many Voices" CD was made available, the non-profit group has funded more than 50 music scholarships for junior high and high school students to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), mailed out 1,000 baroque wooden recorders to elementary schools, and donated two additional upright pianos.

The group's CDs are no longer being distributed through regular sales channels, but they maintain "a commitment to help and support in any way we can," according to Robin Strasser (OLTL's Dorian Lord), producer and project coordinator.

"With an official letter establishing the not-for-profit status of a religious group, school, service organization or other 501(c)(3) organization, 'One Life, Many Voices' will be proud to supply CDs, free of charge, to use as fundraisers for local efforts," she added.

*Congratulations to the writing team of OLTL headed by Ron Carlivati (center) for their nomination in the 2010 Writers Guild Awards. The ceremony was held in NYC on February 20. Unfortunately the gold was awarded to the writing team of ATWT.  It was a thrill for the show to be nominated of course, but in my book they are the true winners as OLTL has had a beyond superb year!*

* An update on Amanda Setton's departure:

*Long-time One Life to Live star Robert S. Woods will remain planted in Llanview for the foreseeable future. Woods recently signed a new multi-year contract that will have him playing Bo through the middle of the decade. The Emmy winner joined the OLTL cast in 1979Congratulations to Bob, Llanview would never be the same without him!*

*I wanted to let you know to set your DVR's because Sean has been doing a bit of prime time of late. A few weeks ago he taped an episode of 30 Rock which will air in about 3 weeks. As soon as we have an exact air date I will let you know. 30 Rock airs on NBC usually on Thursday evenings and stars Tina Fay, Alec Baldwin and Jane Krackowski;

Also around the same time (around the 17th of March) watch for Sean on ABC's Ugly Betty; he taped some comedic scenes with America Ferrera (yep Ugly Betty herself!) yesterday. We're both very excited about Sean's venture into Prime time television. Ugly Betty airs on Wednesday evenings on ABC 10 PM EST

We will be seeing Shaun and Destiny back on OLTL in the Snoop Dogg episodes which should be airing next week.

As always we both thank you for your continued support; and I remind you that you can always send him congratulations at the Studio...the address has changed :

*Finally an end to the rumors about Roscoe Born being fired from OLTL. Not true. It's terrible how these things get started. From the beginning the character of Mitch Laurence was coming back temporarily, and that is the case. LEGENDARY HIP-HOP ICON SNOOP DOGG TO RETURN TO

ABC DAYTIME’S “ONE LIFE TO LIVE” FEBRUARY 24

Multi-talented entertainer/Hip-Hop pioneer Snoop Dogg wrote the words “all that I have is ‘One Life to Live’” when he put his own spin on the theme song for his May 8-9, 2008 appearance on ABC Daytime’s “One Life to Live.” Snoop Dogg’s remixed theme will once again air when he returns to Llanview for his second visit on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24.  The pop icon reached out to “One Life to Live” to once again play himself and perform on the show (taped  Thursday, December 10th in the shows New York City based studio). Snoop Dogg will perform “I Wanna Rock” from his new album “Malice N Wonderland” released December 8, 2009 on EMI's newly re-launched Priority Records, where he also serves as Creative Chairman.

After Mary J. Blige made her second appearance on OLTL in February 2008, longtime fan Snoop Dogg let it be known that he was interested in redoing the theme song.  Not only did he remix the theme for the two episodes on which he appeared, but he performed two songs as well as acted on the show.  For his upcoming return, he will once again act in scenes with Bo Buchanan (Robert S. Woods) and will also be joined by Nora and Matthew Buchanan (Hillary B. Smith and Eddie Alderson). After spending time with his friend Bo and his family, Snoop Dogg will head to Capricorn for his return engagement in Llanview.

“Snoop Dogg’s desire to return to “One Life to Live” is a tremendous show of support for our show,” said executive producer Frank Valentini. “His unique contributions to the entertainment industry are vast as a performer, innovator and businessman and we are honored to have him back to perform and act on OLTL. We also welcome the opportunity to once again air his remixed theme song.”

“As I said when I was here last time, I’ve been a fan of ‘One Life to Live’ since I was a baby because my momma always had it on,” said Snoop Dogg. “It’s cool to come back and hang with Bo Buchanan and the people in Llanview and ‘rock out with them.’”

“Malice N Wonderland” is the tenth studio album for Snoop Dogg.  Producers who collaborated on "Malice N Wonderland" include hitmakers Teddy Riley, Pharrell, Lil Jon, among others along with guest appearances by artists such as R Kelly, Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan and Soulja Boy. “Gangsta Luv” was the first single released from “Malice N Wonderland” and will be followed up by “I Wanna Rock,” a re-working of the classic Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock's "It Takes Two" produced by Scoop Deville. The accompanying video, directed by Eric Peyton, features guest appearances by Jamie Foxx and showcases incredible dance sequences from MTV's 2009 America's Best Dance Crew winners, Quest Crew, Power Rangers and the Snoopettes.

“One Life to Live” sells music and the show has turned into a popular destination for an impressive list of music super stars in addition to Snoop Dogg that includes most recently the All-American Rejects on December 4 and 7. The roster also includes Lionel Richie with Jeremih, Frankie Negron, The Pussycat Dolls, Rachael Yamagata, two appearances by Mary J. Blige, Timbaland with Keri Hilson and One Republic, Nelly Furtado, Jeannie Ortega, Lifehouse, Simply Red, Chris Botti and Erykah Badu. In one afternoon on ABC, a music act will gain broader reach than they would on any radio
station in the country.
Labels have realized that ABC Daytime provides an efficient way to reach our highly engaged audience of women 18-49.  For the artists, an appearance on ABC Daytime affords exposure to a new audience or it can reinforce their music to their existing audience.

Emmy Award-winning “One Life to Live,” created by Agnes Nixon, was launched July 15, 1968. Frank Valentini executive-produces. Ron Carlivati is the headwriter. Paul Glass is the supervising music director. Directed by Danielle Faraldo. The popular drama consistently ranks among the top five in the key demographic of Women 18-49. “One Life to Live” airs MONDAY-FRIDAY (2:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

*Look for David Gregory to be returning to Llanview shortly in the role of Ford. You may remember the hunk recurred on OL in the part of David Vicker's reality TV Producer. Remember the hot barn scene
with him and Langston?  Word has it that this return is in a contract role*

Cramer Women Return to Llanview
Laura Bonarrigo and Melissa Fumero will be reprising their ONE LIFE TO LIVE roles of Dorian's daughters, Cassie and Adriana, for February sweeps, according to www.soapnet.com. Bonarrigo played Cassie from 1991 to 1999 with brief visits over the years. Fumero played Adriana from 2004 to 2008. Adriana left Llanview when her marriage to Rex fell apart.
